At the hospital last weekend, my family was just goofing off - talking, laughing, playing Pictionary on the medical white board and basically being "those people" that the nurses talk about once they leave the room. (We're southern....that's how we roll). Anyway, we got to talking about how Southern people will say "Bless your heart" before they say something mean...and how once you say "bless your heart" whatever you're about to say is automatically sweet. Think about it: "Well bless her heart, that shirt is just so unflattering!" or "Bless their heart, they just tell the worst jokes." I've been laughing at that all week...and of course saying "bless your heart" as many times as possible. :-) However...the "blessing" came back to me when I called my Gramma and during our conversation she "blessed my heart" 3 times!!!! Bless Karma's heart...
